Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Move Better for Life with New York Stretch

What is assisted stretching?

Where are you located?

What should I wear?

Assisted stretching is a one-on-one session with a trained stretch specialist who guides your body through customized stretches. Unlike stretching on your own, we can safely help you reach deeper stretche, improving flexibility, mobility, and circulation. Every session is tailored to your body and goals.

We’re located at 295 Madison Avenue, inside Sports Lab NYC gym. The entrance is on 41st Street between Park and Madison Avenues.

Wear loose and comfortable clothing that allows for movement in all directions. Fitness apparel is ideal. Please remove jewelry prior to the session and have long hair out of the way. Please also wear socks.

How will I feel after a session?

Assisted stretching sessions are very relaxing – like how you might feel after a massage. We recommend scheduling sessions on your off day of training or when you are done with your strenuous activities so you can enjoy the full effect of your session.

How often should I book sessions?

Is assisted stretching good for runners?

What’s the difference between massage and assisted stretching?

This depends on your activity level and what your goals are. Generally, we recommend 1X week if you’re new to assisted stretching. If you are working on a specific goal, 2-3 times per week. Consistency is key to building lasting flexibility and mobility.

New York Stretch, located near Grand Central in Midtown Manhattan, offers recovery services designed for runners. Our assisted stretch sessions reduce stiffness, improve mobility, and help your body bounce back after long runs or intense training. We also offer add-ons like red light therapy for faster recovery.

Yes. Assisted stretching helps runners maintain flexibility, improve stride efficiency, and reduce the risk of overuse injuries. Targeting tight hips, hamstrings, and calves supports faster recovery and keeps you strong through every mile.

Massage focuses on soft tissue release, while assisted stretching improves mobility by moving your joints safely through a fuller range of motion. Many athletes use both — massage for targeted deep tissue work and stretching to improve joint and muscle function.
